Tell your lawmakers: Washington needs dental therapy now!

Everyone in Washington, no matter our race, where we live, what insurance we can afford, or how much money we make, deserves a healthy smile. Kids should get to be kids without suffering pain from an untreated cavity, and parents should be able to put their money towards their family’s future NOT medical debt from preventable emergency dental procedures.

You may have experienced that we are facing a severe shortage of dental providers, especially in rural and low-income communities, and communities of color. BUT, dental therapists can help increase access to quality care across the state!

Communities that have practicing dental therapists are seeing more children growing up without cavities...plus, shorter wait times for an appointment! Currently, dental therapists are practicing in at least nine other states and are allowed to provide care only on Tribal lands in Washington.

If you or your family has been waiting too long for needed dental care, share your story with your lawmakers and urge them to authorize dental therapy across Washington state.
