Hey there --

We just had our Accountable Tech team retreat in Washington, D.C. It was so nice to finally meet everyone in person, especially now that our team has grown to eight! We gave lots of hugs, stayed caffeinated, and thought hard about what AT will look like in 2022.

Virtual work allows us to take things at our own pace, but I think I speak for all of us when I say that there’s something different and special about exchanging ideas in-person. After recapping Accountable Tech’s history and mission, we discussed our priorities going forward. One big thing: ensuring that Big Tech platforms are ready to uphold free and fair midterm elections in the U.S. this coming fall.

Technology is constantly changing, so it’s crucial that we stay ahead of the game in order to truly hold these platforms accountable and achieve meaningful structural reform to our information ecosystem.

We couldn’t have gotten this far without your support. Facebook has armies of lobbyists, but we have grassroots support across the world from people like you. As we close out this year, chip in to support our programs to take on Big Tech monopolies in 2022.
