Friends —
On Sunday, January 9th, 17 people died due to a devastating fire in a
Bronx apartment building. 32 others were sent to the hospital for
treatment.
I’m reaching out today because the survivors of this tragedy are in need
of support, and I am hoping that everyone reading this who is able can
help.
So far, there has been an enormous outpouring of contributions in the form
of clothing and goods, so the best way you can help at this time is by
making a monetary donation.
The following two charities are accepting contributions on behalf of the
survivors:
1. BStrong, in partnership with Global Empowerment Mission, is
distributing kits with basic necessities and cash to survivors →

2. The Gambian Youth Organization is accepting contributions via GoFundMe
to provide cash directly to survivors → [ [link removed] ]donate here
I have seen so much love and generosity from members of our Bronx and
Westchester communities in the past, and I know that so many of you will
step up to support the survivors of this fire in their time of need. So
thank you, in advance, for what you are able to give.
All my best,
Alessandra
