I'm Janelle Perez, and I'm running for Florida's State Senate to fight for our community in Tallahassee.

Growing up in Miami as the daughter of Cuban exiles who fled Castro’s dictatorship, I learned the power of hard work and community.

Today, my wife Monica and I are raising our daughter in the place I’ve always called home. But when I think about what’s happening in Florida right now, I worry about the future of our children.

When I graduated from college, I worked in Washington, DC, to fund healthcare programs around the world. But at age 28, I was diagnosed with cancer and returned home to fight alongside my family in Miami.

As a cancer survivor and the owner of a family-run healthcare company, I know we need compassionate leaders who are committed to expanding high-quality, affordable healthcare and creating opportunities for every family in Miami-Dade.
