On Monday, we heard from a panel of passionate advocates and reviewed our policy priorities for the 2022 Legislative Session before meeting with our lawmakers in the afternoon.
Despite being online for the second year in a row, people from across the state logged in to share their personal stories with their lawmakers and advocate for a world where we can all put food on the table, pay for our families’ everyday needs, and pursue our own goals, no matter who we are or where we come from.
Tell your lawmakers - we cannot afford to keep waiting for better access to dental care! Take Action Now ➡ [link removed]
We all deserve a healthy smile, no matter our race, where we come from or what insurance we can afford. However, year after year, Poverty Action hears from people across the state who can’t get dental care because no dentist in their area will take their insurance and out-of-pocket costs are too expensive.
And still after ten years, the WA State Dental Association continues its well-funded efforts to spread fear and misinformation about dental therapy to block adding dental providers for better access to regular care.
🗣 Your lawmakers need to hear from you! Take a few minutes to message them now at [link removed] and urge the Health Care and Wellness Committee to hold a hearing for an opportunity to hear from community members why we can’t afford to keep waiting for dental therapy.
