Hi John,
I’m thrilled to announce our newest endorsement from former Congresswoman Donna Shalala!
Over the last three decades, Donna Shalala has been a force to be reckoned with on the Florida political scene, in our community, and on the national stage. She was the Secretary of Health of Human Services under President Bill Clinton and became the longest serving HHS Secretary. She went on to become the President of the University of Miami from 2001 through 2015. And in 2018, she flipped Florida’s 27th congressional district blue and represented South Florida in Washington, DC. "Janelle Perez has the legislative experience and real-life challenges that make her uniquely qualified to represent us in the Florida Senate. With capital hill and private sector experience, it is Janelle’s personal battle beating cancer that gives her the real world perspective to fight for us in Tallahassee. I am proud to endorse Janelle Perez, a strong Cuban American woman who will represent our Democratic values."
- Honorable Donna E. Shalala
