The State promised rent relief.  Tens of thousands of us are still waiting. 



Me and my family - there’s seven of us - live in Orange County. We were barely making it before the pandemic.  Like so many others,  when we lost work because of COVID we began to fall behind on rent.  



Months ago we applied for the State’s rental assistance. It still hasn’t shown up. I keep explaining to my landlord that the State will cover the rent. He doesn’t care.  Two days ago a 3-day notice to “pay or quit” AND a 60-day notice showed up on our door. One way or another, he wants us out. 



Far too many of us are living in daily fear of being put out onto the streets. Join us for a virtual Emergency Town Hall Meeting next Wednesday, February 23rd, 6pm <[link removed]>to call on the State to: 



 1) Fully fund the COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program and 



2) Get the money out the door NOW, so that tenants and their landlords, - well, at least the good ones :) - can sleep at night!



Several state officials will join the call to hear from us about the problems, the urgency and the need for action.  And then we will make a plan of action to make sure the State listens.

California’s rental assistance program is both a godsend and a nightmare!  It is and can be the difference between a roof over the head and homelessness.  But the State needs to hurry up and get the help to those who need it!!!

Estado prometió alivio de renta. Decenas de miles de nosotros todavía estamos esperando.



Mi familia y yo -  somos siete - vivimos en el condado de Orange. Vivíamos de cheque en cheque antes de la pandemia. Como tantos otros, cuando perdimos el trabajo por el COVID empezamos a atrasarnos en la renta.



Hace meses solicitamos la asistencia de renta del Estado. Todavía no ha aparecido. Sigo explicándole a mi propietario que el Estado cubrirá la renta -  a él no le importa Hace dos días, apareció en nuestra puerta un aviso de 3 días para "pagar o renunciar" Y un aviso de 60 días. De una forma u otra, nos quiere fuera.



Demasiados de nosotros vivimos con el miedo diario de ser echados a la calle.Únase a nosotros para una reunión comunitaria virtual de emergencia el próximo miércoles 23 de febrero a las 6 p.m. <[link removed]> para pedirle al Estado que:



 1) Financiar por completo el Programa de Asistencia de Renta de Emergencia COVID-19 y



2) Sacar el dinero por la puerta AHORA, para que los inquilinos y sus propietarios, (¡pues, al menos los buenos!), puedan dormir por la noche.



Varios funcionarios estatales se unirán al llamado para saber de nosotros sobre los problemas, la urgencia y la necesidad de acción. Y luego haremos un plan de acción para asegurarnos de que el Estado escuche.
