Hi John,

Although February is the shortest month of the year, so much has happened already. 

With your help, our movement has been growing! We’ve received endorsements from prominent members of the community, like former Congresswoman Donna Shalala, Palmetto Bay Vice Mayor Leanne Tellam, Cutler Bay Councilmembers Roger Coriat & B.J. Duncan, and influential groups, like HONOR PAC. And everyday, our support continues to build. 

We’ve also had the opportunity to go out in the community and talk to the people of South Florida directly. It's been so amazing to see the connections we’ve made and all we’ve been able to accomplish as a team. 

One highlight was the Coconut Grove Arts Festival where we worked with volunteers to collect close to 200 petitions to get me on the ballot this November! 

As we continued to make progress on our campaign, Governor DeSantis and his allies were hard at work in Tallahassee pushing forward legislation to limit progress in our state. Not only did the House pass a bill to harm LGBTQ students and families – an attack that is deeply personal to me - but they also went after the Miami Dade County school budget. Governor DeSantis is trying to take $72 MILLION away from our public schools as punishment for the county trying to protect our children with pandemic safety precautions last year.

I want to be your Senator, because I want to continue fighting for what our community really needs and against bills like these that aim to limit our freedoms. 

But I need your help. The month is almost over and we still haven’t reached our fundraising goal. Can you pledge your support and make a contribution before our big end-of-month deadline? 

I know that together, we can achieve so much. I can’t wait to get out there and keep fighting to win this November.
