Mike Durant is a prime example of this. Mike is a 22-year Army veteran, where he was a Black Hawk pilot. You might know Mike’s story from the movie Black Hawk Down. Mike served during combat Operation Gothic Serpent in Somalia in October 1993, where his Black Hawk helicopter was shot down by an RPG and crashed in the city.

Somehow, Mike Durant survived. He was captured and held as a Prisoner of War by a Somali General for eleven days and eventually released.
