** Attacked for Telling the Truth…

My Grandfather told me, before he passed, “…they will hate you for speaking the truth.” Wisdom comes with years, they say. He was right

Last Wednesday, my opponent voted to advance SB255, which would have given the State Health Officer the authority, with Governor approval, to shut down your business, lock you in your home, and generally control your movements. They would have the ability to stop you from exercising your rights as citizens of the United States and Alabama during the case of a “…disease outbreak...”

Contrary to the attacks calling me fake news and a liar, a vote for a procedural motion to advance the bill is just as bad as a vote for the bill! Thankfully, there were enough Conservative voices to kill the bill yesterday on that procedural motion! Unfortunately, one of those voices was not from District 38.

SB255 was and is a bad bill. The bill would have added language in Section 22-2-8 that gives the State Health Officer the authority to order or direct private citizens that restrict, limit, or burden the citizen’s Constitutional rights or business. All this would take is a stroke of a pen by the Governor, and now you cannot leave your home, go to church, or go to the grocery store – whatever they deem necessary for your safety and security.

I stand for Liberty and our Constitutional rights, rights that are granted by God and that no Government has the authority to restrict or limit. We do not need unelected bureaucrats writing edicts that restrict our Liberties. I would have voted no as many times as it would take to ensure this bill made it no further in the legislative process. We need to learn from 2020, not repeat it.

This bill and her attack on me is just one example…I have been attacked for speaking the truth on the Gas Tax…I have been attacked for pointing out her failure to vote to stop puberty blockers from being given to our kids without the parent’s knowledge or consent (see SB184)…

I am facing a very negative opponent who doesn’t hesitate to send out her minions and attack me directly. I criticize her votes, she attacks me personally.

That’s okay, I was called every name under the sun as a police officer. Her attacks don’t phase me, it just lets me know she is getting scared!
