I'm furious, John. A leaked document has revealed that a majority of justices on the Supreme Court have voted in favor of a draft opinion to ENTIRELY overturn Roe v. Wade. While the ruling is not yet finalized, last night’s news shows that Roe v. Wade’s days are likely numbered. 

This draft opinion is disgusting; it's insulting; it's dangerous; it's infuriating. We MUST fight back. Now that the Supreme Court seems likely to fail us, the only way to protect our right to abortion is by defeating extremists like Grassley, codifying Roe v. Wade into law for future generations, and ending the filibuster to do it.

 I'm running to defeat Sen. Chuck Grassley – one of the biggest anti-abortion figures – to protect our right to choose. If we win, Democrats will be virtually guaranteed to maintain our Senate majority. So please, will you rush $5 right now to protect our reproductive rights?

To those across our country, I want you to know that I am with you. Almost four years ago to the day, I spoke out on the Iowa House Floor against an ultra-conservative six-week abortion ban. In Congress, I continued to fight for our right to choose, and I will do the same as the next U.S. Senator for Iowa. I also want you to know that I am more resolved than ever to defeat Sen. Grassley.

You see, this might be a nightmare scenario for so many of us across the country, but for Sen. Grassley, it's a dream come true. He's spent more than four decades doing everything he can to overturn Roe v. Wade and erode reproductive justice. As the then-chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he was instrumental in blocking President Obama's Supreme Court nominee – and then ramming through Trump-appointed nominees who pose a direct threat to the future of reproductive rights. 

Now, Sen. Grassley is on the precipice of seeing his lifelong wish realized: Roe v. Wade being overturned.

Losing Roe v. Wade alone is a terrifying prospect for millions of Americans – but even these draconian statewide abortion bans straight out of the 1950s are not enough for the right-wing extremists who've hijacked the Republican Party. GOP senators are now discussing strategies to pass a NATIONWIDE six-week abortion ban.

I know that this news is difficult to hear. It's easy to feel hopeless and it's tempting to tune out entirely. If we give up, the GOP will win. We can still fight back and win this. We can defeat Sen. Grassley and replace him with the youngest woman to EVER be elected to the U.S. Senate.  

So please, from the bottom of my heart, I'm asking you to chip in a donation of $5 or whatever you can spare to help me defeat Sen. Chuck Grassley. In times like these, we've got to band together and fight with everything we've got. I'm not giving up, but I can't win without strong grassroots support from people like you.
