Hi, John, it's Deb. That's my daughter Abby and me you're looking at – she's running to defeat Sen. Chuck Grassley (R) here in Iowa. I've had a lot on my mind this week – with Roe v. Wade all but guaranteed to be overturned after nearly 50 years. 

You see, my mother came of age in a time where the right to choose was illegal and incredibly dangerous. Her generation and those before her organized, rallied and fought tooth and nail for the reproductive freedoms – guaranteed by Roe's precedent – that I grew up with.

I never dreamed that my own daughter would be forced back into a time where abortion rights cease to exist. But it doesn't have to be this way.

We still have a path to protecting the right to choose – and it starts with sending my daughter to the Senate. By electing Abby, we'll not only elect the youngest female senator and defeat an anti-choice extremist, Chuck Grassley, we'll have another vote to end the filibuster so we can codify Roe v. Wade into law for future generations.
