Hi there, it's Abby's husband, Daniel. When this photo of Abby was taken, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R) had already been in Washington for well over a decade. She had no idea that she'd grow up to challenge him. Back then, she was living in a small, rural town in eastern Iowa called Sherrill. Today, it's still one of her favorite places in the whole world – and it has become one of mine, too. 

Abby was raised in a working family: her dad was a union pipefitter-welder, and her mom worked in the school system. Her parents – Deb and Jerry – are some of the best people I know. They're the ones who taught Abby the values that define her today: treating people with respect, never thinking you’re better than anyone else, and always saying "yes" when there is work to be done or a problem to solve.
