It is World Environment Day and Giving Day for Greens in Canada.
We have held off major fundraising for the last month as we supported the Green Party of Ontario and their great campaign leading up to this week’s election.
Today, June 5, is the day for a big 24-hour push.
I am in a wonderful local conference all day, building grassroots support for climate action. We really need more Greens elected because we really need the climate emergency addressed with urgency.
We do not have years. We have months to ensure that the emissions of warming gases stop rising and start dropping before 2025. And from that peak before 2025, greenhouse gas emissions have to drop like a stone – in half by 2030.
We do not have a moment to waste. We are standing at the edge of too late; but it is not too late.
We must all do even more to meet the climate challenge. And Greens know how to do it.
Around the world today, millions are marking World Environment Day.
Help us demonstrate that Canadian Greens are up to the challenge.
