Congress's inability to pass basic gun safety measures is simply not acceptable. That's why, in the wake of the Supreme Court's Heller decision, I rewrote DC's gun laws to be the strongest in the country and defended them when they were attacked by the NRA. For my commitment to preventing gun violence, I am proud to have been awarded the distinction of being a Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate.
