Teachers rally Saturday against gun violence
Saying that "It's past time for elected officials to end the slaughter of schoolchildren and others in our communities," the American Federation of Teachers is partnering with the student activists of March for Our Lives to fight for an end to gun violence in our schools and communities. This Saturday, June 11, from 10a to 2p at the Washington Monument (on the National Mall, 15th St NW between Constitution and Independence), "educators will be standing together with students, parents and the community in a march on our nation's capital to demand that lawmakers take action to help keep children, our members, families and communities safe," rally organizers say. The Washington Teachers Union is among the local supporters who will be turning out. More info/detailshttps://www.aft.org/take-action-stop-gun-violence-join-us-now here.
