Here are some of the exciting efforts we're currently engaged in. You can become involved with any of them by attending any meeting on our events calendar or joining the chapter's slack:
-
The Labor Committee is supporting local Starbucks workers fighting back against illegal firings. If you're able to give, please support their GoFundMe! Also, join our canvass for Elisabeth Epps this Sunday, 6/12 at 11 am at Cheesman Park
-
The Electoral Committee is currently supporting two candidates for State House: Elisabeth Epps & Javier Mabrey (electoral)
- Primary ballots were mailed this week! To coincide with this event, Denver DSA released our
member-approved ballot guide. View the guide here!
- We are working with Elisabeth Epps' campaign to host a DSA canvass and social on
Sunday, June 12th! Go chat with the comrades, meet Elisabeth Epps, and talk to
voters! First time? Don't worry! Training will be provided on-site and you can
buddy up with someone more experienced! More info below.
The Mutual Aid
Working Group is currently discussing actions we can take to help our neighbors
in the Denver community after the heartless felonization of fentanyl by the
Colorado legislature. Join us every other Wednesday at 5 to build
people-powered alternatives to the state systems which oppress the populace!
-
The Socialist-Feminist Committee is meeting this Sunday, June 12th at 5pm to discuss DSA's response to the impending
overrule of Roe v. Wade and the right to an abortion. We need all hands on deck
to plan on how to march, raise money and offer tangible support when this disgusting
decision drops this June!
The Housing Justice Committee is focusing on the NEWR campaign. Current needs are volunteers for weekly phone banks, social media content, endorsement conversations & canvassing! Sign up here! [email protected]
-
The Abolition Working Group hosts city council watch parties every Monday via discord
- Our ongoing book club is discussing Mariame Kaba's We Do This 'Til We Free Us. A few copies are still available. The next discussion is on June 12th (Pgs 132-162). Do not worry if you missed the first couple of meetings, we would love to have you any time you can attend! We have spare books available as well.
- This month we're supporting the efforts of the American Friends Service Committee to raise funds for the Trans & Queer Immigrant support fund. There are only two places in the country that detain Transgender immigrants long-term, Aurora and Tacoma. Come get involved and donate if you are able!
- Join us at 7pm on Sunday, June 12th (a lot going on then!) for an informal
discussion on the role of gun control and gun violence prevention in the
Abolition movement! More info in #wg-abolition on slack!
You can get involved with these various efforts by joining our Slack (here's how to do that!) - or attending any meeting on our events calendar, which is open to all regardless of dues.

This text is important too, it's just quiet and at the bottom. The Democratic Socialists of America is 100% member-funded, and the Denver chapter is no exception. If you like the work we're doing, please consider donating directly to the chapter so we have the financial means to keep doing it! While we receive quarterly dues shares from National, your direct donation to Denver DSA gets money into organizersā hands quicker. Give us socialist cash to beat capitalist trash! https://denverdsa.org/donate
