Today, the Supreme Court released its abhorrent decision to throw out decades of precedent and overturn Roe v. Wade. This is an immeasurable attack on women’s rights.



Roe v. Wade has been the law of the land for a half century. Millions of women across the country will be subjected to unnecessary physical danger by this ruling. The District is especially vulnerable because if the Congress flips this fall the Republicans can legislative to prohibit abortions in the District -- with the Supreme Court's green light.



This is all for the benefit of far right politicians, many of whom could never fathom someone taking away their choice to decide what’s right for their bodies.



In the wake of the Supreme Court's decision, it is crucial that the District of Columbia takes every action possible to protect women's health providers like Planned Parenthood.



However, due to a Congressional budget rider, DC's government is PROHIBITED from protecting abortion rights and financially supporting these health providers.



This anti-democratic rider was invented by Congressional Republicans and, with enough pressure from the public, can be removed by the current Democratic Congress.



Please join me in signing our petition demanding that Congress REMOVE THE RIDER and allow DC to fund women's health providers.
