Today we celebrate the birth of our great nation and the promise of liberty and justice for all that our country was founded on.

I want to take this moment to honor the brave men and women in uniform safeguarding our nation and its founding ideals.

As a veteran, I understand the sacrifices our service members and their families are making every day.

They put their lives on the line to make our American way of life possible. It’s because of their selfless service that we enjoy the freedoms we all too often take for granted.

Our service members deserve our recognition — not just today, but every day.

I hope you have a safe and joyous 4th of July!
