Since we’ve started this journey and launched this historic campaign to make Chris Jones the next governor of Arkansas, we’ve heard one common refrain more than most:

You know Arkansas is a red state. How is a Democrat supposed to become Governor here?

Folks, we know the history we’re up against, but we’re also using that history to inform how we go about winning this election. We believe our campaign will show the nation what it means to win in these so-called red states, and we’ll do that by getting Arkansas out of the basement on voter turnout — particularly in the Delta and the Ozarks, places where so much of the American story has been birthed.

So many Arkansans have historically — perhaps intentionally — been left out of the political process. It’s important we level the playing field, and we anticipate that registering more Arkansans and giving them a reason to vote will do just that. One conversation and one vote at a time, we will show the nation how to change the conversation, and that work has already begun.

As far as we can tell, Chris’s Republican opponent sees no issue with only catering to a small few of Arkansans, and that kind of disregard for our people is exactly how she’ll continue to behave if she becomes governor.

Chris is so serious about speaking with as many Arkansans as possible before the election that he’s currently on his second statewide tour of the year, continuing what’s already been the most ambitious grassroots effort in the state’s history. Through Faith, Hope, and Hard Work, Chris truly believes that Arkansas can reach its full potential — and folks, given Chris’s passion for this state and its people, it’s pretty hard to disagree with his vision.
