Jury Finds Democrat Super PAC Defamed Roy Moore and Awards Him $8.2 Million in Damages

At last! After 5 long years of rigorous litigation, lengthy depositions, continuous fundraising, and a five-day trial to defend my husband’s reputation, we have SLAIN THE GIANT!
That’s right! In case the liberal media forgot to mention on your morning newscast.. Judge Roy Moore defeated the mega Super PAC and Democratic “war chest”, Senate Majority PAC (SMP).
The jury found that SMP painted Judge Moore in a false light with false allegations of sexual misconduct with teenage girls and awarded him $8.2 Million!
The jury sent a firm message to D.C.-based, Senate Majority PAC which is notorious for running slanderous ad campaigns against Republican candidates across the country, in Alabama, “We dare to defend our rights to honest and fair elections.”
This is HUGE exoneration for my husband, and all of our supporters, like you, who stood firmly behind us through all of this, Thank YOU!

In fact, the jury of eight actually found that the individuals behind these Super PAC’s knew what they were doing and knew that the allegations against him were false. This case is also HUGE for Defamation Law and the standard of Actual Malice!
Since the ruling in Times v. Sullivan, which raised the bar for actual malice, the media has had free reign to slander and libel public officials without conducting a proper investigation into whether the allegations are actually true.
In other words, a plaintiff would have to show that the defendants (in this case, SMP) knew that the allegations were false when they aired the ad. An extremely high bar, in the words of Justice Byron White, is “almost impossible”. This jury found that SMP acted with actual malice.
This organization was the funding machine behind the suspicious Super PAC, Highway 31, that formed just 30 days before Judge Moore’s election in 2017 and spent $5 million dollars with the sole intent of defaming him and slandering his good reputation.
We could not be more grateful for this vindicating verdict and the support we have received throughout this battle! But it’s not over yet!
We fully expect SMP to appeal this verdict and to do all they can to prevent paying Judge Moore for damages, but our attorneys will be prepared to file an expeditious response!
We promised our supporters in 2017 that we would not give up on holding these imposters accountable! Now we must fight to uphold this groundbreaking verdict!
We have a new judge assigned to the “conspiracy “action we filed in Etowah County, Alabama, and a hearing has been set for September 13. At long last, we will be able to confront those individuals who conspired to derail the 2017 Senate election in Alabama.
