Join us on the State Capitol steps.
Friend –
Just weeks after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, right-wing Republicans and a handful of Democrats in the state legislature passed a series of amendments to the Pennsylvania Constitution that includes ending the right to abortion care in the commonwealth.
If successful, the abortion amendment would ban courts from recognizing abortion as a right under the state constitution.
But the fight is far from over. Lawmakers must pass an identical set of amendments in the upcoming legislative session, and then the amendments would be put to voters as a ballot question as soon as the spring of 2023.
There's a lot of work to be done to overcome this brazen attack on our rights, and we will keep you up to date as the action unfolds. That's why we want to invite you to a rally in Harrisburg on Tuesday, September 20, on the Capitol steps. <[link removed]>

We'll join the Women's Health Caucus, Planned Parenthood, and other reproductive health experts to rally together for the right to abortion care and against the proposed amendment banning the right to abortion.
After the rally, we also invite you to join other ACLU-PA members in dropping off literature about the proposed amendment to lawmakers. The meetup spot will be the ACLU-PA table at the site of the rally.
We hope to see you there!
Thanks for all you do.
