Dear Friend,
Imagine it: It’s 2023. It’s early evening in the bustling East Bay DSA office. In one
room, two dozen of your comrades are making phone calls to put one of
our own homegrown members on the City Council in Oakland. In another,
a UPS worker, fresh off the biggest national strike in 25 years, is
training six brand new Teamsters on how to have an organizing
conversation. You’re here for a one-on-one with your mentor. You grab
a snack and pull up a chair - and a world beyond capitalism seems
possible.
This future is entirely within East Bay DSA’s
reach. We’re one of DSA’s top
five largest chapters, but we’re still small and driven by the
enormous labor of volunteers. In order to take on an enemy as massive
as the billionaire class, we’ve got to meet them at their size and
scope. And that means scaling up into a fighting organization with
resources. Are you in? Become
a monthly donor to grow East Bay DSA >>
This is our first ever big
fundraising push as a chapter. We’ve got an ambitious goal:
we want to bring in $4,500 in new monthly dues, which
would more than double our current number.
Imagine what we’ll be able to do if
we double our capacity to fight for socialism. We can hire staff to
work on electoral and labor campaigns. We can rent an office to
support our organizing. We can free up the time of our strongest
organizers to do politics, not book endless meeting rooms and do admin
work.
In order to get there, every one of
our members will need to step up - and that includes you, Friend! If
167 members give $27 a month, we’ll hit our goal in no time. So
start up monthly dues now >>
I can’t wait to work together with
you to build East Bay DSA into a fighting force in the East
Bay.
Solidarity,
Ella Teevan
