Dear John

As an animal lover, you will no doubt be aware that wild lions face a desperate situation ( [link removed] ). Here at Born Free, we are doing all we can to ensure the survival of the species through our Compassionate Conservation work in the field.

But, tragically, around the world, many individuals face ruthless exploitation at the hands of cruel wildlife traffickers and people looking to trade these beautiful wild animals as ā€˜petsā€™.

That is why we have launched our Saving Lions Together appeal today to secure a safer future for these magnificent big cats and end their exploitation.

Please give a gift today to save lives and stop this senseless suffering. ( [link removed] )

ā€œWe know times are particularly tough right now and the future feels uncertain, but if we donā€™t act today, the suffering, abuse, neglect and exploitation will continue.
I really do appreciate your gift, large or small ā€“ together we can help save lives and protect lions."

YOU AND BORN FREE CAN SAVE LIONS TOGETHER ( [link removed] )

Tarikwa and King
Snatched from her mother as a tiny cub, Tarikwa was a fragile baby, her leg broken, and so weak that she could barely stand - an innocent victim of Ethiopiaā€™s wildlife trade. When we were alerted to her desperate plight, Tarikwa was rushed to our wildlife Rescue Centre, where our expert team battled to save her life.

Sadly, x-rays revealed a spinal fracture, related to low bone density due to the poor diet she received before we rescued her. Despite our very best efforts, Tarikwa had to be lovingly and gently put to sleep by our vet. She had only been in our care a few months, but she had touched all our hearts.

And remember King? Found beaten and abused in a Paris apartment, then safely transported to the safety of Shamwari. Thankfully, he has thrived alongside companion Thea, who was also in terrible condition when rescued from the exotic pet trade in France.

At Born Free, we never give up on an individual where there is hope, and with your help, together, we can save more lives. Please donate today. ( [link removed] )

In Tarikwa's memory, please help ensure this isn't the lions last roar. Any gift you send could help secure them a safer future.
Thank you for any support you are able to provide today. Letā€™s make Born Freeā€™s Year of the Lion a turning point, one that heralds a brighter future for lions forever.

With sincere thanks from your friends at Born Free.
