Elissa sent an email yesterday on tonight’s FEC deadline, and we just wanted to make sure you saw.

You can read her full explanation below, but essentially, this pre-election deadline will send a final major signal to outside groups eyeing another super PAC investment in what is already the most expensive House race in the country.

This is one of the last big chances to make a contribution to Elissa count – will you chip in to help us show anyone looking to flip Elissa’s seat that they’re in for a tough fight?

I wanted to send a quick note to let you know about our last FEC deadline before Election Day.

This upcoming deadline on October 19th is our “Pre-General Election report” – something all congressional candidates are required to file in the run up to the general election. The report covers the amount we have raised from October 1st to October 19th.

Since this is such a tight window, strong numbers send an important final signal to any GOP super PACs who might be looking to make a last minute ad against me in the lead up to Election Day. It also helps us fund the last all-out field effort (including paying our part time MSU student organizers $18 an hour for the last two weeks).

I’m in one of the five most competitive, and THE most expensive House race in the country. Everyone looking to flip the House is paying close attention to this.
