John: The other night, my wife Martha and I were talking shop over dinner, speculating on the top races and discussing our hopes for the country.
Our discussion turned to how politics can feel hopeless some days – and how difficult it is to keep fighting when the battle for justice feels never-ending. It's a conversation that I'm sure you've had around your dinner table, too. So with the midterms just around the corner, I wanted to take a moment to share personally why I keep fighting and why I will never give up this work.
I'll tell it to you straight: I have fought hard to win elections, pass legislation and move our country forward. I've celebrated some incredible wins, but I've also had to weather some really tough, demoralizing losses. Through it all, I've learned that to win, you have to play the game everywhere and every day.
You see, you can't just invest in the states you think you can count on or the races that pundits are talking about in the headlines. To build the broad coalitions it'll take to win real change in the future, you have to be ready to put it all on the line – and yes, you have to be ready to lose, too.
It took many election cycles and plenty of elbow grease – building coalitions, teams and volunteer networks in Arizona – to elect my friend Sen. Mark Kelly to Congress. And it took a lot of gut-wrenching losses in Georgia before we elected not one but two Democratic senators.
So what I said to Martha, and what I want to share now, is that we can't take any state, any district or any voter for granted. And we can't count anyone out either. This November, they're all in play.
John, that's why I need you to take up these fights and commit to building a better America with me – even when it is hard, and especially when it doesn't feel possible. Please, will you make a donation to invest in the fight so we can win the transformative change that families are counting on?

When you take a stand today, you are building not just for right now, but also for future candidates, future voters and future fights.
Thank you for believing in a better future.
