The Washington Post recently joined Elissa for a full day on the campaign trail. Their article was just published, and it represents the larger story of the election coming in just 15 days.

The majority of the day was spent in Shiawassee county. It’s a conservative area – Dems tend to get about 35% percent of the vote — but showing up in areas that don’t typically lean Democratic has always been part of Elissa’s strategy. The only way she wins in Trump-voting areas is by “losing better” in these areas – which means showing up again and again in places that haven't seen a Democrat show up in years. We’re talking to folks about the economy, bringing our supply chains back home, and lowering the cost of prescription drugs. 

One of the main things Elissa imparted to the Washington Post AND to folks on the campaign trail: are we going to use the tough times we’re going through as a political talking point? Or are we actually going to do something about it? Real leaders lead with hope and purpose. They don’t just gleefully point to the pain of their residents.
