I’ve been on the ground in Iowa this week because we’re two weeks out from a historic midterm election, and Admiral Mike Franken has got a great shot at expanding our Democratic majority.

• Mike has outraised incumbent GOP Senator Grassley for six months straight, without taking a dime of corporate money.
• A recent Des Moines Register poll has Mike just three points behind.
• The Washington Post thinks this race is a virtual toss-up.

Think about it. We’re virtually a toss-up away from expanding our Democratic majority in the Senate. The election is just two weeks away, and the energy on the ground here in Iowa is exactly what we need to pull this one off.

I remember in 2017 when virtually no one thought I had a shot at defeating Roy Moore. But everyone actually on the ground in Alabama was fired up and ready to make history at the ballot box.

Mike Franken’s got the same energy behind him. Voters are telling me he’s the type of independent, fair-minded leader that Iowans love to support. But right now, Grassley has the backing of a bunch of McConnell’s dark conservative activist money, and he’s drowning Mike in false attack ads throughout the state.
