We are now less than 2 weeks away from the 2022 Midterm Election and America’s Voice wants to make sure you know not just the blatantly racist candidates that are on ballots across the country, but who their friends are as well because it matters.

Our “Dime Con Quién Andas/Show Me Your Friends” campaign is a bilingual effort that seeks to educate the public and hold Republican candidates accountable for the reckless extremism of the party, from its leadership to the rank and file members.

The idea comes from the saying “show me your friends and I’ll show you who you are” as there are several Republican candidates running in battleground races who have been silent as their “friends” in Republican leadership spread dangerous and racist lies that endanger our communities. If you run with those who tell hurtful lies for their own benefit, it says a lot about you.

We first launched this campaign back in June with candidates from Texas, New Mexico and Arizona and in July we added five from California.

And now, we have expanded once again by 4 new Republicans to our campaign: Maria Elvira Salazar (FL-27), Carlos Giménez (FL-28), Yesli Vega (VA-07) and Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR-05)

These battleground races are key in deciding who controls the House and the Senate in the new year, but these Republican candidates have remained silent as their Republican friends have lied about the 2020 election and echoed the same white nationalist “invasion” and “white replacement” theories that have inspired domestic terrorists that have committed massacres in cities such as Buffalo, El Paso and Pittsburgh.

We cannot allow this to go unchecked.

We must hold these candidates accountable because unless they actively and publicly stand up to their friends’ dangerous ideas, they too are responsible for the racist and dangerous rhetoric that makes our communities less safe.
