Team,
Before trick-or-treating starts, we wanted to make sure you saw Elissa’s email from earlier today.
We’ve included her full message down below so you can take a look. But to sum up, we’re “treating” (see what we did there) the end of October like a mini “end-of-quarter.”
Why are we doing this? Well, since we won’t be doing our big “end-of-quarter” push until December, after the election, we’re putting that energy into ensuring we have the resources we need to compete in the last week of the campaign.
And unfortunately, we still need to pull in some resources. The cost of TV advertisements is at its highest the week just prior to the election and rates in some areas of our district are nearing a whopping $658 per point. (Remember, we buy television in terms of ratings points, and a single ad needs 1200-1500 points to really be memorable!)
This race is going to be a nail-biter: we will be using TV, digital, mail, and knocking as many doors as possible until polls close at 8pm on the 8th to get the word out.
That’s why we’re asking you to chip in below before midnight tonight to help keep our ads on the air AND Elissa in Congress.
Team Slotkin
Team,
We’re almost there. In less than 24 hours, it will officially be November 1st – with a week left until Election Day.
I know, I’m emailing you on Halloween (I’ll be out later today with Team Slotkin in our milk and cookie costumes - don't worry, we'll send pictures!) So, I’ll keep this short.
Since we won’t be doing our big “end-of-quarter” (or EOQ) push in December after the election, we’re treating today like a mini EOQ, since contributions made in these final stages really do help us out.
There will be quite a bit that pops up in the next 9 days – everything from last minute TV ad buys, to renting event spaces, to hiring additional MSU organizers, to buying more hand warmers for the folks willing to brave outdoor campaign events in a Michigan November with us. Plus, the cost of TV is three times as expensive as it was back in 2020, and staying on the air at the same volume we have been is critical.
While this is one of the most competitive House races in the country and THE most competitive House race in Michigan, I’ve run in tough races before. We have a path to victory here, but it relies on having the resources to make it happen – hence our end of month push before we head into November.
If you want to help us keep this seat, chip in below before midnight, tonight. Thanks for bearing with me – now, go enjoy Halloween!
Elissa
