Team,
Last night, Elissa and Congresswoman Liz Cheney held An Evening for Patriotism and Bipartisanship at East Lansing High School.
More than 600 people crowded into a high school gym to hear the two Congresswomen speak about the importance of putting one’s country first—before politics, before winning elections, and before yourself. Take a look:
If you weren’t able to join us, you can watch the full event here.
The event comes after Congresswoman Cheney endorsed Elissa for reelection in one of the most competitive House races in the country, the first time she’s ever endorsed a Democrat.
The theme of the night was largely what Elissa has been saying this entire campaign: that our country is going through something right now. But that we’ve always gotten through these moments with two things: engaged citizens and principled leaders. The 600 Michiganders in that high school gym were a perfect demonstration of the engaged citizens our country is looking for in this moment — people who care about their community and their country.
Elissa is committed to being the principled leader they deserve.
