Team,
This week, Elissa’s opponent touted the endorsements of three different extreme, right-wing figures, including election-denying congressional candidate Harriet Hageman, Putin stooge Tulsi Gabbard, and anti-choice warrior Mike Pence. These endorsements come on the heels of Rep. Liz Cheney’s endorsement of Elissa, the first time Cheney has ever supported a Democrat. Cheney endorsed Elissa because of her opponent’s refusal to accept the results of the 2020 election.
Much like the language on his website outlining his anti-choice position, the moderate mask that Elissa’s opponent has tried to wear during this campaign has disappeared.
The people Elissa's opponent is choosing to align himself with in the final days of the race say quite a lot about his character.
Elissa’s opponent and Mike Pence agree that:
- Gay marriage is wrong.
- Abortion should be banned, without exceptions for rape and incest.
- Congress should pass a national abortion ban.
Elissa’s opponent and Harriett Hageman agree that:
- Mike Pence should have delayed the counting of the electoral votes.
- Members of Congress who challenged the electoral vote count’s validity were right to do so.
Elissa’s opponent also said he was “proud” to have the support of Tulsi Gabbard, a former Congresswoman who says that Putin acted in self-defense when he invaded Ukraine, that the Biden administration and “war-mongers in Washington” wanted Putin to invade, and that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is an authoritarian. He’s also called supporters of America’s efforts to defend its democratic allies “warmongers.”
Elissa’s opponent is showing us who he’s been all along: someone who talks like a moderate but holds extreme, alarming views. Time and time again he has put his ideology before his duty to constituents. Chip in below to help us spend the next 4 days ensuring the new 7th district does not have such an extreme voice in Congress.
