Dear
Running for elective office was not part of my life plan.
But we live in troubled times, and I love my community and my country. In my heart I heard the call to run, took a personal and professional inventory, and found myself without excuse. I had to answer it.
But who in their right mind would believe in me as a candidate?
I kept the decision to myself as long as I could until a friend noticed a post I’d written and at a meeting joked, “Are you running for office?” When I said “Yes,” it was like a light went on: suddenly it was obvious to everyone in the room that I should run, and not only that — they wanted to be part of my campaign team.
I was astonished.
Since then, I have had the humbling, yet gratifying experience of receiving endorsements from dozens of members of my community, current and former elected officials, and organizations whose work I believe in. I’ve posted their comments at my campaign website, but list them here as my thanks for their trust in me and support of Zink for Assembly 2022.
