Dear John,
After reopening their doors last fall, campuses have welcomed back students and faculty members. Finding the right faculty and staff is a crucial part of fostering a productive academic environment, and will ensure that the next generation of scholars can continue to shape our “new normal.”
You probably know that since 1915, the American Association of University Professors has been a leading voice in the fight for academic freedom, shared governance, and the economic security of the profession. But did you know that one of the many resources we offer to faculty members and academic professionals is an online Career Center? We know how valuable educators can be, and want to do our part to help both universities and those in the job market take the next step in building their community by highlighting the benefits of our free resource for both AAUP members and nonmembers seeking a teaching or administrative position in higher education. Visit the center on our website to explore the options.
1) Add your resume or curriculum vitae to the resume database to increase your visibility to employers. You can also upload supplementary materials such as a teaching statement or sample syllabus.
2) Search job opportunities across the higher education spectrum and find employers in your field.
3) Receive email alerts when new positions are posted. You can also sign up for Twitter alerts at @AAUPCareerCtr.
If you have ever looked for a job in academia, you know how challenging it can be to find the right position at the right institution. As you seek new opportunities, let the Career Center help you with your job search needs!
P.S. If you are serving on a hiring committee for your academic department or have a position in higher education to advertise, take a look at the Career Center’s options for employers.
