John,
Alliance Network youth organizers mobilized young people to show up in this year’s midterms informed and ready to elect candidates and pass ballot initiatives that take action on the issues young people care about most. And now, we are looking back at all the hard work youth organizers put in this year to help turn out around 27% of youth (ages 18-29), making this the second-highest youth voter turnout in a midterm election in the last three decades [[link removed]] .
Here is a snapshot of how the Alliance Network organized young people to vote and fight for our future.

Here's What We're Celebrating
[link removed] [[link removed]] The Alliance Network wins by organizing young people year-round, and this year we can thank youth organizers for several wins in this election.
Our 20 network organizations engaged in a total of 256 races from city council races to governor races and everything in between.
Alliance Network organizations are dedicated to electing candidates who represent our values. Out of the 116 of candidates they endorsed in local races, 81 won!
Our network is committed to passing policies that reflect our values and what our communities need. Out of the 36 ballot measures our network engaged in, they won 28 of them!
Here’s a glimpse at some of the local wins we’ve been celebrating:
Detroit Action won two ballot measures! Proposal 2, the voter rights amendment to their state constitution, and another to enshrine abortion rights. They also celebrate nine of their 11 endorsed candidates who won their races!
Thanks to their rigorous work to engage Asian American voters, North Carolina Asian Americans Together (NCAAT) saw a massive increase in AAPI early vote numbers this year, a 66% increase from 2018! They're also celebrating 18 of 22 endorsed candidates who won their elections.
New Hampshire Youth Movement (NHYM) is celebrating wins for 18 out of 28 of their endorsed candidates last week, including one former NHYM staff member who won a seat in the New Hampshire State House!

People power at the local level is key to real political, cultural, and social change and doesn’t stop after election day. The Alliance Network builds youth power by creating political homes for young people to fight for our communities and create a better future all year-round. When we invest in young people, we win. Please help us continue this work. Donate to support local youth organizing for the long haul.

This year’s election showed that young people are reimagining what this country could be in the future. Above all, this election showed that young people are outraged. We are angry that this country has failed to protect voting rights. We are mad about broken social safety nets. We are livid that the Supreme Court took away our constitutional right to an abortion. And youth organizers in the Alliance Network were able to channel this anger into historic youth voter turnout to claim major victories throughout the country that will create a better future for all of us.
The youth vote was the difference this year, but we won’t stop here. We’re channeling this energy to move us to 2024 and beyond!
To investing in young people so we can win for years to come,
Dakota Hall
Executive Director
