John, Donald Trump has officially launched his 2024 presidential campaign. This is a tipping point for our country and our democracy – and I need you with me.

Over four years in office, Trump caused irreparable damage to so many of the institutions we hold dear and to our government's reputation at home and abroad. He buddied up to dangerous dictators like Putin. He knowingly spread lies and misinformation about the COVID-19 pandemic to undermine experts and flex his own power. His greatest legacy is pushing a hateful agenda that tore our nation, our communities, and our families apart in ways we have yet to heal from.

And when he lost the 2020 election, he spread nonsensical, anti-American conspiracy theories and incited a deadly insurrection in a desperate effort to remain in power.

I have never seen a single person have such a devastating impact on our country – on the way we treat each other, on the level of respect foreign nations have for us, and on the trust we have in our election systems.

Donald Trump did all of that damage with just four years in office – and it will take decades to fix what he broke. I don't want to think about the type of havoc and destruction he could wreak with another four years in the White House.
