Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m writing to you as I travel abroad on a CODEL — or congressional delegation — with other Members of Congress. 

A quick note as Thanksgiving comes to an end:

Today, I participated in the yearly tradition where members of the Veterans Affairs Committee serve a Thanksgiving meal to our troops serving abroad.

Specifically, I was honored to share a meal with our active duty military and guardsmen from Michigan — Americans whose dedicated service gives us the privilege of sharing holidays with our families.

As you wrap up today and enjoy the last of the day's food, football, or whatever your traditions may be, don’t forget to honor those who are fighting for our freedoms, serving us every day, far from home.
