That's why I'm partnering with the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN) to raise funds to protect the Chesapeake Bay region and fight climate change.

Communities and ecosystems in the Chesapeake Bay region are already feeling the effects of climate change. Water levels are steadily rising and the water temperatures here are increasing almost two times as fast as global sea levels.

The families who call this area home, and families all across our country, are counting on bold action – before it's too late.

That's why CCAN's work is so important. They're working night and day to protect communities and ecosystems in the Chesapeake Bay region and pass legislation that will reduce our dependence on oil – and they're not afraid to take on tough fights. They've played a key role in passing renewable electricity laws, combatting dangerous pollution in the region, and stopping new fracking projects. But this work is far from over.

The only way to stop the climate crisis is by investing in advocacy groups like CCAN and supporting leaders who will fight for our planet's future. This is a battle we cannot afford to lose, John.
