Rally today for Pregnant Workers Fairness Act
Too many employers still discriminate and retaliate against pregnant workers when they ask for necessary workplace accommodations. The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) would change that, creating a clear standard requiring employers to engage with workers and provide reasonable accommodations to workers with pregnancy-related limitations. Supporters will rally on Capitol Hill today (see Calendar); the PWFA has passed the House with a bipartisan majority and won the support of labor organizations, women’s groups, and the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, and needs only a vote in the Senate to become law.
