Dear John
People up and down the country are under immense pressure because of the cost of living crisis.
Households have been struggling with rising costs of food, electric, gas and fuel.
The mini budget made a bad situation even worse. Whether you’re a home owner, looking to remortgage, hoping to get on the housing ladder, or renting privately I know people locally have seen their costs skyrocket.
I am working to hold the new Prime Minister to account and to make sure the Government take affordable and reasonable steps to support struggling households.
The Autumn statement was a missed opportunity. The Government could have raised vital cash by scrapping the non-dom status used to avoid tax, yet the Government refused and instead turned the screws on working people.
What do you think? Do you agree that the Government should do more? Who do you think should pay for it?
