Over our 14-year tenure working on plastic pollution issues, we’ve learned that there is no one silver bullet solution. To truly lead change, we must all work together – you as an individual, us as a research-based organization, along with policymakers, activists, corporations. We all play a role in solving this global problem.
 
A key, and often overlooked, piece of the puzzle is engaging companies and brands. While there are a lot of corporations that are set in their ways like resin in a single-use plastic bottle (we’re looking at you, top polluters 👀), there are countless other companies that want to do better and are asking the hard questions – how can we minimize our footprint? What is a better alternative to polybags? Do bioplastics truly break down? 
 
As a science-based organization, we see a need for solutions that are vetted, effective, and scalable. In 2023, 5 Gyres will work closely with current and prospective partners to achieve their ESG goals around climate and plastic reduction, serving as an Honest Broker of science along the way.
