Friend,
We all have holiday traditions, so I wanted to take a second to explain mine.
Each year, my family and I do our best to spend about a week together, usually within driving distance of one of our homes. This year we’re off on an Americana road trip, starting in Branson, Missouri and ending in Memphis, Tennessee.
I’ve heard a lot from people who have traveled to Branson, a hidden gem in the middle of the country nestled in the heart of the Ozark Mountains. They’ve got all kinds of live entertainment, attractions, and over 6 million twinkling Christmas lights – a true holiday experience from the heartland. One highlight: Christmas at Dolly Parton’s Stampede.
Then we head farther south to Memphis. If you read my emails you know that I’m a bit of a history buff, so between the area’s connection to the Civil Rights movement, famous barbecue, and Graceland – it’s going to be quite the trip for American history and culture!
Before most of us log off through the end of the year, I just wanted to once again say thank you.
I am so grateful for your support: the notes, the calls, the Facebook messages, the advice, the impromptu “Slotkin for Congress” crafts, and more than anything -- for your belief that together, we can get back to two healthy parties that debate policy and substance.
Enjoy these final days of 2022. And for those impacted by this winter storm, stay safe and warm!
