John, did you hear the good news about the USPS?
Just two years ago, the Postal Service was expected to electrify only 10% of its new mail delivery fleet. But now, the USPS has announced that it’s on track to electrify at least 66,000 out of 106,000 new delivery vehicles by 2028 – more than 60%! I'm thrilled by this progress, but there's still more work that we must do.
The stakes here are frighteningly real, John: Climate change is already upon us. We see it in record heatwaves, devastating storms, and melting icecaps. The only way to prevent the worst of this climate crisis is by boldly investing in clean energy, moving beyond harmful fossil fuels, and giving this fight our all every step of the way.
That means not taking "no" for an answer. It means advocating for our planet at each turn and every juncture. And it means not stopping until the job is done. So although I'm thrilled that the USPS's fleet will include at least 66,000 new electric vehicles in the coming years, I'm not going to stop pushing for change until we reach 100% electrification.
If you're with me on this, I need you to have my back today. I've launched a new petition in support of electrifying the USPS fleet and fully investing in our Postal Service. I need another 1,382 signatures before 11:59 p.m. tonight to show my colleagues in Washington that there's strong grassroots support for this. Please, John, can I count on your signature tonight?

Change only happens with consistent, strong grassroots pressure. I hope you'll stand with me on this today.
Thank you,
Tom
