PA Housing Team Commits to Helping with Evictions
If you have a few hours of time, consider a shift at the Justice Center, 3rd floor as a part of the PA Navigators team. Under the guidance of Angel Vick-Lewis and Lorisa Seibel you can provide information and resources to your Durham neighbors who are facing eviction. During your two hour shift you will:
1) Learn how to approach and guide someone coming to court
2) Help people find their way to the courtroom or to the Legal Aid office
3) Offer to listen if someone wants to tell their story
Sign up for a your first shift here <[link removed]> and then check back for more shifts to come.
The PA Housing Team meets next on February 16th at 6:00pm. <[link removed]>

Tyre Nichols
Tyre Nichols should be alive today. His brutal murder is yet another painful example of police brutality in the United States, especially against communities of color. We grieve for Tyre’s family, friends, and community. The circumstances around his savage beating — an increase in aggressive policing tactics in response to crime — are mirrored in communities across the U.S. This could happen almost anywhere although Tyre Nichols was guilty of no crime other than "driving while black."
