The main motto on Team Slotkin? Always be prepared.

It’s a sentiment that was instilled in Elissa when she worked in the national security world, serving three tours in Iraq alongside our military. And, it’s something she’s taken with her to Congress.

It’s also pretty important in campaigns. Whether it’s having staff trained and ready to go, maintaining relationships with volunteer networks, or raising the resources we will need down the road – being prepared allows us to overcome all of the surprises that will inevitably come our way. From campaigning during a global pandemic to running in some entirely new counties following redistricting, Team Slotkin has been able to be so successful because the early work we put in allows us to quickly adapt and formulate a plan for every scenario.

But, it goes further than that. Like we saw in Elissa’s last campaign (the most expensive House race in the country), Republican outside groups are looking to invest in seats they believe they can flip. And showing that we’re prepared for anything might just convince them that getting involved isn’t worth their time or money.
