As we watch our chances of achieving a two state solution in the Middle East slip away, the GOP led congress has lashed out about Rep. Ilhan Omar’s previous statements about Israel.

This move is not about anti-semitism or even the security of Israel. The Republican Party delivered retribution for the removal of GOP members when Democrats held the majority— by using a progressive woman of color, and Palestinian sovereignty— as their pawns.

In a display of true leadership, Rep. Omar stood tall and told her colleagues and the press, “My leadership and voice will not be diminished if I am not on this committee for one term. My voice will get louder and stronger.”

The truth is, now more than ever, we have to link arms and stand strong in the face of GOP-Bullsh*t. We simply cannot let their tactics keep us from fighting for our progressive values.

The good news is that Democrats are standing together in their support of Rep. Omar because they know this is a political game that we cannot tolerate.

We need to show Rep. Omar and the Democratic Party that we have their backs.
