Elissa Slotkin for Congress

Friend -

Since Senator Stabenow announced her retirement, I’ve gotten a lot of questions about whether or not I am going to run for the U.S. Senate in Michigan this year, and I want to be honest about it with you.

The short answer is: Yes, I am thinking about running.

I believe the United States Senate is in need of practical, reasonable, independently-minded people who are willing to work with others to get things done. That was brought home to me again last week when we had a shooting at MSU, the second in my district in 15 months.

There are too many people in Congress right now who refuse to even come to the table and have a reasonable discussion about how we can do things like protect our children from gun violence or lower the cost of prescription drugs.

So, I am doing my due diligence, talking about running with close friends and people I trust. But running statewide is most definitely a team effort.

So today, I am asking if you will follow me on social media so you can stay up to date with the latest from our campaign and be the first to know about new developments.
