Well, it’s been quite a day over here on Team Slotkin, where we find ourselves in the final hours of our launch day! The support for our campaign from Michigan and across the country has been great.

But of course, not everyone is as happy as we are. We know that our potential opponents on the other side of the aisle are watching to see how strong our launch is, and to put it bluntly: how much money we’re able to raise today, as a signal of support.

They know that the amount of money a candidate can raise in the early days is a good indicator of how strong a campaign they’re prepared to run.

They also know that in campaigns, money in the bank means the ability to communicate with more voters, getting our message out sooner and to more people. For example - your support is helping us to kick off a listening tour through Michigan, starting with Detroit later this week, to hear what people throughout the state want from their leaders.

But separate from what the other side thinks, one thing is very clear right now: Washington is in desperate, desperate need of normal, pragmatic, common-sense leadership.

My job today is to make sure that we have the strongest possible launch, so we can win, keep this seat in a notoriously swingy state, and send someone to the Senate who will work to get things done for Michigan and the country.
