John, 13 years ago today, President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law. That moment, and the months and years of work leading up to it, remains one of my proudest achievements.
As a senior member of the Senate Finance Committee, I worked closely with my colleagues to both create and pass this transformative legislation. In the years since then, I've fought tooth and nail to protect the ACA and lower health care costs for American families. And just last year, I helped draft the Inflation Reduction Act – which took further steps to limit prescription drug costs for families.
I believe to my core that everyone in this country deserves affordable, accessible, high-quality health care – regardless of where they live, how old they are, whether they have preexisting conditions, or how much money they make. This anniversary is a powerful reminder of how close we've come to achieving that reality – but also how far we still have to go.
Let me be very clear on this: We will only win a future where all Americans can afford high-quality health care if Democrats are in power. But right now, experts are warning that Mitch McConnell has "a clear path" to retaking the Senate. If he retakes power, he won't just block progress on health care reform – he'll work to actively undermine the ACA and destroy President Obama's legislation that has made health care accessible to millions of Americans.
That's why, to mark this anniversary, I'm calling on 500 Democrats to make a donation to protect the ACA, honor President Obama's legacy, and defend our Senate majority. Please, John, you're one of the strongest Democrats on my team: Can I count on your gift before midnight tonight?

Thank you for standing with the ACA and our Democratic majority.
Onwards,
Tom
