Housing in San Francisco doesn’t have to be so divisive. We can all agree that anyone who wants to live in San Francisco should be able to afford to live here. In order to make that a reality, we need to build more housing. Now. That means more affordable housing and more market rate housing for All San Franciscans—including working and middle-class families.
It’s time for those who would stand in the way of progress and block new housing construction when they don’t get 110 percent of what they want to stand aside—or join us in the fight for a truly more affordable San Francisco for everyone.
I’m someone whose family struggled when we first arrived here in America, so the rising cost of living and this unaffordable housing market aren’t just theoretical topics for me. This understanding has fueled my fight for working families throughout my years as a labor organizer, city planner, and Supervisor.
Today, I’m proud to share my housing plan for San Francisco. And with your support, I’m ready to be San Francisco’s true housing mayor, so we can build a more affordable city for all.
